Conclusions

I have described in this article the first three OSI layers. While the first two Layers have been already discussed in other articles, the Network Layer needs to be detailed much more than I did today. Unfortunately I need to explain several more down layer things in order to go deeper into Network Layer, so you can expect more when we will talk about routers and routing protocols. Please take notice that I didn't say a thing about the technology involved in the first three Layers, we will talk about it in the further articles. In order to build networks we have to know how to make them reliable and fast and theory is the best way to start. The next article will be targeted to practical cabling: rules, regulations, equipment and much more.

Please write me for suggestions at webmaster@pchardware.ro!
