Backup and restore your Registry with RegBack. This easy-to-use safeguard not only maintains multiple copies of the Windows Registry, Win.ini, and System.ini, it allows you to create a boot disk to effect a quick restore when trouble strikes. Instructions are also provided to restore from DOS without the boot disk, but the process is pretty complex, unless you're comfortable with DOS commands. The only available option lets you limit the amount of disk space the backed up Registries consume.
System Snapshot performs two useful functions. First it simplifies the process of backing up critical system files from your computer. When a PC crashes is it often not necessary to format and/or restore your entire hard drive. Instead, by restoring the Windows registry and other configuration files the system problems can be solved.
System Snapshot also has the ability to restore configurations such as desktop icons, wallpapers, and start menu items every time Windows is started. This is ideal if you have public computers where users are constantly changing configurations. If a user changes wallpaper, adds icons, etc. and System Snapshot will automatically restore your assigned settings every time Windows is rebooted.
XpressBackUp is an easy-to-use, wizard-driven backup and restore utility.
The program includes automatic disk spanning, enabling you to back up your files to a specific number of disks. You can create a self-extractable backup file, include password protection, and restore your backups using XpressBackUp or any other ZIP-extracting utility. In addition, you can edit, rename, and delete your backup sets, and use wildcards and file exclusion lists.
Backup To CD-RW 3.0 will copy any folders/files you want to CD-RW, CD-R, floppy diskette, or a folder on a hard disk. It will use as many discs as needed to hold your backup. It backs up files "as-is": they are normal files identical to the originals, so if you want you can open or copy them with Windows Explorer or any other program instead of restoring them first.
Backup To CD-RW 3.0 also has options to backup only recently modified files, work with the "Archive" flag for each file, and create "unattended" backups using command line options. All options are carefully designed to be easy to understand, and can be safely ignored if you aren't interested in them.
Have you ever had your system crash on you? Ever had to reformat your hard drive? Use Rescue 911 to prepare for trouble ahead of time -- then use it to save your system after trouble strikes. Most system failures stem from corrupted files on your computer. If you install new software, edit your registry, or even browse the web, you should back up important system files often. Rescue 911 provides options for Automatic Backup on startup, Manual Backup at the push of a button, and a Rescue Diskette that automatically restores system files if Windows won't boot. With an intuitive user interface, clearly written help files and context-sensitive help buttons throughout, the program is easy to use despite its powerful features.
Rescue Me helps you to easily and safely backup and restore the files and directories on your hard drive. You can now do fast, accurate backups of all your important files. You can use the single volume backup which stores your files in standard ZIP format. With Rescue Me, you can use floppy disks, Zip disks, as well as the high capacity Jaz, and Orb drives. It is hard to find a backup system that works as effortlessly as Rescue Me and backs up to so many types of drives.
SettSaver is a utility which allows you to backup your current Windows and programs settings. Instead of reconfiguring an application each time you install it, save its settings with SettSaver and restore then back after the installation. SettSaver can save not only some of the Windows setting but also the files associated with a wallpaper, screensaver, mouse cursors and sound events. You may also add your own files, folders or registry keys to be saved. With SettSaver you may copy this settings to another computer or to a different Windows platform (for example from Windows 98 to NT or 2000).
