Conclusion
I
have only two words to say as the conclusion of this review: get
it! Although FastTrack100 TX2 doesn't bring an amazing performance increase
in real applications it offers a great deal of data reliability.

The
installation process must be appreciated since it reduces
the risks of mistakes due to insufficient or superficial knowledge.
The installation process is pretty straightforward and doesn't
require special operations, the installation steps are explained
in the manual and the software provides a more than reasonable
amount of user support. A big plus for the FastTrack manual
which succeded to impress me.
From my experience with other IDE RAID controllers and especially
with Abit Hot Rod 100
I can tell you that FastTrack is easier to use than other
solutions and a little bit faster as benchmarks revealed.
Another thing which have to be appreciated is the company
support and the FastTrack software drivers and support. For
guys looking for performance FastTrack can be faster than
a SCSI drive and more affordable even if you consider the
price of the controller and of the supplementary disk in array.

In
fact the costs are not double because all space can be used in a
stripping configuration and you can buy harddisks smaller than your
total capacity needs.
For
user looking for reliability in small, medium and even production
servers FastTrack is also a choice. A SCSI RAID controller costs
a lot and the disks are also pretty expensive. There is almost no
difference between the level of reliability provided by FastTrack
and a SCSI RAID controller, but the price of a SCSI solution has
an additional digit.
