Fortis
Technology have a complete cooling line which claims to be
designed for overclockers. We have two coolers in this roundup:
A92 and A102A. Both coolers are special because not many coolers
can be proud with such a quality package like Fortis Technology
box. You can find inside a fully assembled cooler, a syringe
with Silver grease and a small owners manual.
The A92 heatsink is not very large but consists in a lot of
blended aluminum foils on a cooper base. The heatsink displays
a quality manufacturing, but I can not tell that I totally
approve the design used to hold the foils. The base is also
quite smooth.
The fan
used is good quality, Young Lin Tech DFC606512D showed at
impressive 7000rpm combined with a noise level of 55db(A).
We were unable to measure the air flow in the roundup, but
the specs reveal a 36CFM moving power. The fan is screwed
to a plate, so the fan removal and the installation of a powerful
one is possible. However we do not recommend this for A92.
The clip
is one of the best in this roundup, with only one hole, but
with a hand driven mechanism easy to use. Once again I didn't
see this cooler on AMD approved list, but it is recommended
by the manufacturer for Athlon running up to 1.6Ghz.
The cooler
didn't perform very good in our roundup, in fact it was in
the last half of the list. But the value is still high due
to its cost, after all 48C is not so bad. A major plus for
this cooler is the included thermal interface which can be
used for many times.
You can
use this cooler for overclocking with all AMD CPUs currently
on the market, but take care that there are other solutions
with a better performance. For the average user the cooler
may be a little too noisy for the performance provided.
In conclusion an intermediate product.
